The shop menu enables a player to upgrade his car or tune their current parts. Players can upgrade individual components of their cars, including the chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, and tires. The menus for chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, and tires will all present the user with options and required upgrade points for each option.

Note that it is possible for a player to actually downgrade his car if he desires. In this case the required points are negative and are added back to the player's upgrade point total. This is not usually a wise strategy, however, since a player can reacquire only a fraction (50%) of the points it originally cost the player to upgrade the car. This option is included for those players that wish to race a particular car in a particular class that they have raced before.
