I'm at the racing screen, what do I do now?
When the racing screen is first displayed, the game is waiting for you to initiate burnout and staging. Press and hold the UP arrow key or 2 button to start your burnout. The length of time this key is depressed will have an effect on how warmed up the tires are and how well it will perform (traction resulting from warmed-up tires). The optimal time to hold this key down is somewhere between 1 and 2 seconds.

How do I stage?
Once you complete burnout (by releasing the UP arrow key), the car will stage (line up at the start line) automatically.

I just crashed. What happened?
Your car has hit the left wall resulting in a crash. Crashing results in an automatic loss of the current race.

I just got disqualified. What happened?
Your car has either veered into the other lane, you waited too long to stage, or you started before the green light. Disqualifications result in an automatic loss of the current race.

I’ve upgraded my car and I still can’t beat the computer, what am I doing wrong?
Try changing your burnout time and improving your reaction time to the starting light.  Also, you can go into the Garage and tune the parts on your car to improve performance.  Not all changes will guarantee an improvement so try and find the optimal settings.

When I accelerate, do I need to hold down the up arrow to keep going?
No, just press it once and then release.

How many gears are there?
There are three gears. Pressing the SHIFT key will shift you into the next higher gear. There is no way to shift into a lower gear.

How do I race against a live opponent?
Just select PLAY GAME, then MULTIPLAYER. The game screens will walk you through the process after that.

If I exit to the main menu from an EVENT or CHAMPIONSHIP, can I resume where I left off?
Yes, but if you exit the game then your progress will be lost.  You will not be able to return to the race in your Event once the game has been turned off.  Upon resuming CHAMPIONSHIP mode you will start from your previously complete Event.

I am trying to race multiplayer, and the screen just keeps saying Waiting for Opponent. What's going on?
The IHRA Drag Racing server will automatically match you up with an opponent. The server will only match you against an opponent racing in the same class of car as you. While you are waiting for an opponent, you may cancel from the wait screen at any time. When an opponent is found, the game will notify you and will ask you to confirm your intention to race. After confirming, you will be taken to the racing screen. From that point until the end of the race, racing proceeds just as in the case of single player racing.

I continually receive a message to “Connect to Server?” while playing, how can I prevent this?
This will vary from handset to handset, but you need to change the default setting on your phone not to prompt you every time you want to connect to the server.  Often you will be given the option of setting your phone to only ask you once or only ask you the first time if you want to connect.  Changing this setting to only ask the first time is recommended for your playing enjoyment.

When racing against other people online, can I change the track length?
No, when you race in Multiplayer mode you are only allowed to race on ¼ mile tracks.

How do I get IHRA 2?
You will need to have a phone that supports downloadable games as well as a data plan to get online.  For a list of phones that have IHRA available, please CLICK HERE.  You will need an online connection on your phone to browse the games menus from your carrier. Once online, typically IHRA will be listed in the SPORTS or ACTION game menus. Menus will then walk you through the download and installation process. You will be charged by your carrier for the purchase and it will appear on your monthly carrier statement.
